This feels like a waste of time if no one will ever see it, so I will stop for the time being.
I have a few fully fleshed out system designs that I have made, but I have decided to hold of posting them on this site unless there is interest. I have made the designs, but I do not have any connections, money, or any opportunities to make them realities.
If anyone wants me to continue to post my ideas please comment. I have many many more where these came from.
Using a ternary system I encoded a name in this maze. Using the solution path, each crossroads is a data point where left is 0 straight is 1 and right is 2. If you were to record each of the data points in order and separate them in groups of 3 you can use that to find out the message. It can be decoded as followed:
000 = _
001 = A
002 = B
010 = C
011 = D
212 = W
220 = X
221 = Y
222 = Z
See if anyone can find out the solution and if I messed up the maze.
The design for the website is rather simple.
- A text box on the top left where users enter in the text that they want changed
- A column of single line text boxes on the right of the text box
- An arrow from each single line text box to the right pointed at a single line text box
- A centered button that says Replace under them
- A text box centered directly under the “Replace” button
The site can be of use to people making records of similar item descriptions in a database like a wikipedia. I came up with the design when I was working for gamepedia.
Looking at the way some shooting games level up players seems to be overly simplistic and has a hard cap. My method of leveling in a FPS RPG would increase the level based on the player’s skill. Players gain experience whenever they leave the battlefield, either through death or leaving the battle. Players experience gained is calculated based on:
- N – Number of hits
- H – Hit percentage
- K – Kills
- C – Hit combos
Using a equation similar to:
a*K + b*C/N + c*H – d*Level
Also I feel there should be experience for more than just overall skill. I feel that using a rocket launcher should not really garner 100% effect towards snipers or other weapons. I feel that the experience gained should go into a few categories, from most effect on game-play to least:
- Accuracy – Effects all weapons
- Style – Effects weapons of that type
- Expertise – Effects weapons of that model
- Bonding – Effects only that weapon
I feel that any weapon should increase the overall skill with aiming, where weapon types are used in different ways, Using a single type of weapon can make it really easy to be more precise, each weapon has its own attributes and wear pattern that if known can be taken into account when using it. All of these are reasons why I feel that experience should be split up to the different categories.
Starting with a set of text you want to encode then convert it to numerical code.
Encoding it starts with the last digit of the current number. Then each digit is the sum of the previous digit from the current number and the encoded number. If the number is greater than 10 then just use the ones place.
Current Number: 14152005
5, 5 + 1 = 6 + 4 = 10 -> 0 + 1 = 1 + 5 = 6 + 2 = 8 + 0 = 8 + 0 = 8
To decode subtract the current digit from the encoded number from the next digit of the encoded number.
6 – 5 = 1, 0 – 6 = -6 + 10 = 4, 1 – 0 = 1, 6 – 1 = 5, 8 – 6 = 2, 8 – 8 = 0, 8 – 8 = 0, 5 -> 5
You can encode multiple times and it may be best to use a number at the beginning to signify how many time it is encoded. For example:
04 – 0163184086291087032477016625738802
I am creating this blog as a place to post my ideas as well as a place for people to give me feed back. This is just how the blog is getting started, so it is possible that it will evolve into something else.
